A Sunday service at St Andrew’s includes singing, prayer, Bible reading and a 20–25-minute talk explaining the Bible and its relevance to life. Each service lasts about an hour and is followed by morning tea. Visitors can sit wherever they like, participate as much or as little as they wish, and are not expected to give money.

St Andrew’s 9:00am service has a more traditional style, with hymns accompanied by the organ. The 10:30am service has a more contemporary style, includes a children’s talk and offers children’s programs during school terms. Both services centre on the Bible, prayer and singing, last about an hour, and are open to everyone.

St Andrew’s includes children, young people and adults; singles, couples and families; long-time Christians, new Christians and people exploring Christianity. People come from across Townsville and are at different stages of life and faith. Visitors do not need to know anyone before attending.

There is no dress code at St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. People are welcome to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, and there is no need to dress formally or buy anything special.

Children and babies are welcome at both services. During school terms, St Andrew’s runs children’s programs during part of the 10:30am service, and children may also remain with their parents throughout. A cry room is available if a quieter space would help. St Andrew’s also offers activities for children and youth during the week.

Yes. Sermons from St Andrew’s are available through our online Sermon Library, and recordings of services can be watched on YouTube. This allows prospective visitors to hear what is taught and get a sense of a service before attending in person.
