New Afternoon Service in Korean Language

Praise God for granting us another worship service at St Andrews. Commencing from 5th September and weekly afterward, this afternoon worship service will be conducted in Korean language. All are welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus.

St Andrew's Trivia Night

When: Saturday, August 28th, from 7:00pm/ Where: St Andrew's Church Hall

This is to give God our thanks for His blessings especially with the Church Hall and its centenary. Come along and enjoy warm Christian fellowship.

Church Family Camp

Over the weekend (13-15 Aug) Church Family Camp will take place at New Life Pastures at Kennedy. Pray to God for His guidance and for each other in the Lord to share Christ's love among us.

Mission Morning Tea

When: 30 July, Friday / Where: Church Hall

This is one of St Andrew's Missions Committee's work to encourage many to be mission minded for the glory of God. Please bring family members and friends with you.

Farewell, dear Pat!

Our longest Communicant Member, Mrs Pat Flynn, is now moving away to another city in QLD. Not only her time at St Andrews, Townsville for the past 70 years (just counting her membership years) but also her faithful service to the Lord and loving fellowship with brothers and sisters in the Lord too will be remembered. May God be with you always, our sister Pat!

Mount Isa Session Re-established!

By God's grace the Session of the Mount Isa Charge is now reestablished on 1 June 2010. Two elders were elected and their ordination and induction to this Session was taken place on 30th June 2010. With a heartfeld thanks to the LORD, please remember the Charge, Session and all brethren in your prayers.

A Good Book to Read

"THIS LITTLE CHURCH STAYED HOME"

Written by Gary E. Gilley, an American Baptist pastor, it has a subtitle, "A Faithful Church in Deceptive Times." This book is only 178 pages thick, easy to read, but contains a deep spiritual warning to all Christians who live in this 'deceptive times' of 21 century - a time in a postmodern world. The first chapter draws a picture of a world that is in postmodern thinking, followed by three more chapters - "The Church's Mandate" (Ch. 2), "The Scriptures" (Ch. 3), and "Pressing Challenges" (Ch. 4).

The last chapter talks about the challenge of "Mysticism" which is truly relevant to all in our age. It also explains what "the Emergent Church" means and its true face which is another face of liberalism disguised and packaged in this secular culture of our postmodern age.

Strongly recommend to read if you haven't. This book will expand your spiritual eyesight to add more wisdom to guard you, your family and all in Christ's Church!
